Back in July, Red Gold Tomatoes contacted me and asked if I’d review some of its products. I told them that I was in the middle of a kitchen remodel, but to send them on and I’d see what I could do. If you’ve been following my kitchen updates, then you know it was late August before I had running water and just a few weeks ago before the oven was ready to use. Bad timing for Red Gold, because the folks there wanted me to mention some cool summer promotions they were running. Oh well, better late than never!

Before I describe the Red Gold products, let me make my disclaimer that I am not affiliated with the firm. That said, I have enjoyed and reviewed Tuttorosso tomatoes (click here for my post), which Red Gold owns. It was because of the quality of the Tuttorosso products that I agreed to try the Red Gold products. And I’m so glad I did – so far, so good!

Red Gold sent me a great little package of products that included:

• Petite Diced Lime Juice & Cilantro Tomatoes
• Petite Diced Tomatoes With Green Chilies
• Diced Chili Ready Tomatoes
• Diced Tomatoes
• Diced Tomatoes with Basil, Garlic & Oregano
• Mama Selita’s Jalapeño Ketchup

Red Gold threw in some recipe cards with the tomato products, which was an added bonus.

So far, I’ve made two tasty recipes with Red Gold products that are perfect for the cooler fall weather that is heading our way. The first was Kel’s Kielbasa with Red Gold Petite Tomatoes with Green Chilies and Cannellini Beans. I made this in my Ninja 3-in-1 cooking system and it turned out great! I will post the recipe in the next few days.

I also made a delicious turkey meatloaf with Red Gold Lime Juice & Cilantro Petite Tomatoes and Mama Selita’s Jalapeño Ketchup — yum, yum, yum, yum, yum! I’ll post this recipe soon, too. We’ve been using Mama’s ketchup on burgers as well and it is definitely Gabe and Lexi approved!

Overall, I have found the quality of the Red Gold products to be very good — fresh with nice, bold flavors, although I would like a hotter version of Mama Selita’s Jalapeño Ketchup. The one big negative is that Red Gold products are not currently sold in N.C. (they are available online, however.)  Since Tuttorosso products are available in local grocery stores, I do hope Red Gold follows suit soon!
