I made these patriotic jell-o shots for a July 4th pool party – very easy, and very good!
For the blue shots I used a 3 oz. package of Berry Blue Jell-O, 1 cup of boiling water, and 1 cup of DeKuyper’s Island Blue Pucker. I found this recipe online at http://www.myscienceproject.org/j-shot-4.html. This website has a number of great recipes for all kinds of shots. I thought these shots were refreshing and somewhat tart but still sweet at the same time.
For the red shots I used a 3 oz. package of black cherry Jell-O, 1 cup of boiling water and 1 cup of vodka. Any red gelatin will work. Once you mix the ingredients, pour into plastic shot cups (I like the ones with lids for easy transportation) and refrigerate until they set. The red shots were good, too!
Eat, drink and be merry!
